Hello family and friends,
We are well into our trip and so far everything is going well for us. We started off with a mass of media in San Francisco and Sacramento, hopefully you have seen the videos on the website. If not, click on the press link and they are there. No casualties to this point, but Mike and Vander did take a spill before we got out of Sacramento. Don't worry it wasn't serious, but it was funny. Kevin made friends with an owl while biking through Carson's Peak in the Sierra Nevadas. That was a rough night for everyone as we didn't sleep and the Nevadas were pretty treacherous.
Day 2 was much smoother. After a short press conference, we set out again and made it 240 miles on Route 50. We now know why this is the Loneliest Road in America. It was filled with steep inclines the whole way and we even heard coyotes overnight.
Day 3 we made it 40 miles across the Utah border to mile marker 38, population 9, the 9 of us who slept on the side of the road that is.
Day 4 we are rolling through Delta, Utah, stopped at the Jubilee grocery store to pick up some bananas. We will be in Salt Lake City by the end of the day. We will try to update the blog daily, but internet access is pretty scarce out here.
Love you all, see you soon.

It sounds like you are meeting some fantastic people. Too bad the weather wasn't a little more cooperative. I have been watching your interviews and videos. I am praying for a safe journey as you make your way across the country.
